National Association of Women Business Owners Honors Nathan Adelson Hospice’s CEO
(Las Vegas) – The National Association of Women Business Owners presented Carole Fisher, president and chief executive officer of Nathan Adelson Hospice, with a Women of Distinction Award at its 12th annual awards ceremony in March.
Fisher, who oversees the largest non-profit hospice in Southern Nevada, earned the honor in the Professional Services category. Selection committee members were impressed by her dedication and passion to the mission to be the hospice of choice, employer of preference and training center of excellence.
She has a history of leadership, including previously serving as director of Bridge Counseling Associates, chief operating officer and chief executive officer at a number of behavior healthcare organizations and executive director for Southwest Medical Associates, a division of Sierra Health Services.
Fisher serves as a member of the Governance Committee and the Public Policy Committee for the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. She is also a member of the Women Business Leaders of the U.S. Healthcare Industry and is a board member of the Nevada Hospital Association.
Nathan Adelson Hospice is the largest non-profit hospice in Southern Nevada, caring for more than 350 patients daily. In 1978, Nathan Adelson Hospice became Southern Nevada’s first home care hospice with the mission to provide patients and their loved ones with comprehensive end-of-life care and influence better care for all in the community. In 1983, Nathan Adelson Hospice opened the area’s first in-patient hospice, and today the hospice is recognized as a national model for superior hospice care. The strategic goal at the hospice is to be the Hospice of Choice, the Employer of Preference and a Training Center of Excellence. Its vision is simple: no one should end the journey of life alone, afraid or in pain.
The hospice also is home to The Center for Compassionate Care, a non-profit counseling agency providing individual, group and family counseling services to address grief, loss and issues related to surviving life-threatening illnesses.
