I still miss those I loved who are no longer with me but I find I am grateful for having loved them. The gratitude has finally conquered the loss.
- Rita Mae Brown, Starting from Scratch

At some point in our lives, we all experience the death of a loved one or friend. Death affects each of us in different ways, but the profound sense of loss that accompanies death is universally human.

While we experience a range of emotions in these circumstances, the normal grieving process incorporates several stages. Each experience is unique, and we progress through the process at our own pace--never really knowing what is normal, what the future holds, and when the pain will subside.

For these reasons, most people greatly benefit from a support system to help them through the loss. A bereavement support group can offer many different types of support, including information on legal issues, different perspectives on how to cope, and even the simple reminder that you are not alone in suffering this universally human experience.

We also offer individual counseling. If you have experienced the loss of a friend or family member, and would like to speak to our Bereavement staff please call (702) 796-3167 . Someone will be able to help you to understand your feelings and reactions and the process of grieving.
