Director of Medical Education Program
Dr. Meeks obtained his Bachelor of Science degree at Brigham Young University. He then attended the University of Health Sciences, Kansas City for his Doctorate of Osteopathy. He did a rotating internship and a residency in emergency medicine at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine. He moved to Las Vegas in 1997 and he has practiced emergency medicine at Sunrise Hospital, University Medical Center ER and Trauma Center. He has also practiced Hyperbaric Medicine and is certified as an Independent Medical Examiner.
Dr. Meeks joined the Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine Faculty in 2006 as an Assistant Professor in the Primary Care Department. He serves as the Director of the Clinical Systems Course and teaches in the Physical Diagnosis Lab and Problem Based Learning Course. Dr. Meeks became the Vice Chair of the Primary Care Department in 2014.
In addition, Dr. Meeks is the Director of the Emergency Department at Boulder City Hospital as well as serving as Chief of Staff, a member of the hospital Board of Directors and Chairperson of the hospital quality improvement committee.
