Cross-Industry Initiative will Provide Clinical Guidelines and Resources for Heart Patients and Families

LAS VEGAS (April 21, 2021)— Despite the longer survival times for heart failure patients enrolled in hospice than those not enrolled in hospice , services remain underused in this population . The evidence reflects a lack of awareness of hospice and palliative care offerings in the community as one of the primary barriers to improved quality and access.  To address this care gap, the National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation (NPHI), in cooperation with the American Heart Association (AHA) - the world’s leading voluntary organization dedicated to a world of longer, healthier lives -  announced a new advanced cardiac care initiative and the availability of jointly developed patient and family educational resources.

LAS VEGAS – Jan. 21, 2021 – Nathan Adelson Hospice has announced its participation in The National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation’s (NPHI) cross-industry cardiac care initiative. Planned for release early this year, the program will develop and provide clinical protocols as well as patient and family education resources in an effort to reduce the number of heart health patients dying alone in hospitals throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
