Dr. Choi

Nathan Adelson Hospice announced today the hiring of Dr. Kang Choi, DO, who successfully completed Nathan Adelson Hospice’s Fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, as a staff Hospice and Palliative Care Team Physician.

“It takes a special kind of person to work at the bedside, and Dr. Choi has proven to be a capable, caring and dedicated physician,” said Karen Rubel, President, and CEO of Nathan Adelson Hospice. “I am very proud of the Fellowship program and Nathan Adelson Hospice continuing to be the ‘Training Center of Excellence.’"

Dr. Choi completed one year of vigorous hands-on study, providing hospice and palliative care to Nathan Adelson Hospice patients. Dr. Choi demonstrated competence and compassion and developed a wide scope of interdisciplinary skills for managing chronic palliative patients as well as patients with life-limiting illnesses.

Nathan Adelson Hospice offers the only Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship in the state of Nevada and is one of only eleven organizations in the country offering board certification in the specialized care of people with very serious illnesses.

“Our fellowship program addresses an urgent need. Both nationally and locally, there is a severe shortage of hospice and palliative board-certified physicians and participating in a formal clinical fellowship program is the only way to achieve certification,” said Dr. Catrisha Cabanilla-Del Mundo, Fellowship Program Director.
